These super common, highly uncomfortable symptoms are more than just an aching gut feeling. Most often they indicate at least one of a few common digestive weaknesses. You may be surprised to learn that most doctors go about addressing treatment of these symptoms in ways that have serious, negative consequences down the road. Listen in as Tony, Will and Kinna bring to light the most common causes of bloating and stomach discomfort and share what to do to actually fix the root issues in most cases.
In this Episode You’ll Learn
- That the majority of cases of bloating in the stomach comes from bacterial overgrowth in the stomach. These bacteria ferment the food you eat and create off gases which generate pressure (bloating) in the stomach.
- Stomach acid usually creates an internal environment in the stomach that prevents bacterial overgrowth.
- When stomach acid levels are deficient, bacteria can populate the stomach, which leads to bloating, discomfort, increased exotoxins in the body and increasingly impaired digestion.
- Supplementing with betaine HCL will often kill off the bacteria in the stomach, improve digestion and alleviate symptoms of bloating and stomach discomfort.
- Sometimes the bacteria in the stomach has created a protective biofilm that shields them from acid damage. In such cases, it usually isn’t enough to simply supplement with betaine HCL because the acid can’t get to the bacteria to kill it off.
- In such cases, supplements like d-limonene (an extract derived from orange peel) can help destroy the biofilm protecting the bacteria and make the them vulnerable to stomach acid or supplemental betaine HCL.
- As such, supplementation with d-limonene and then betaine HCL can often effectively eliminate gastric bacteria, improve digestion and relieve symptoms of bloating and stomach discomfort.
- A couple common causes of bloating in the intestinal tract are impaired bile flow and/or exotoxins produced by bacteria in the intestines.
- When either stomach acid or bile don’t reach the food as it goes through digestion the consumed food will often putrefy, resulting in bloating and gas.
- Certain foods contain fibers that intestinal bacteria tend to ferment in ways that can contribute to gas and bloating in the mid and lower abdomen.
