- Cellular respiration is the primary way most cells in your body create energy.
- Cellular respiration involves the oxidation of glucose by the mitochondria and the creation of A.T.P., carbon dioxide and water through the process.
- Carbon dioxide and A.T.P. are “cardinal adsorbents” that, through electrostatic properties, galvanize cell proteins which in turn polarize cell water into highly organized multilayers.
- The polarized water is referred to by Dr. Gerald Pollack as the 4th phase of water. It is molecularly distinct from regular water. It is also sometimes referred to as Structured Water and is responsible for the distribution of electrolytes within and outside the cell.
- The polarized multilayers of water molecules inside living cells demonstrate gel like properties, akin to jello.
- The cardinal adsorbents (A.T.P and carbon dioxide) acting on cell proteins and cell water creates a highly negatively charged, highly ordered state referred to as The Living State – a term coined by Dr. Albert Sent györgyi.
- The electrostatic properties of structured water and the Living State are what enable the cell to perform the mass majority of its functions. The way in which this plays out is explored in great depth in Dr. Gerald Pollack’s book Cels, Gels and the Engines of Life.
- There are certain nutrients known to support cellular respiration and the Living State, while others have been identified as inhibitors of cellular respiration and have a degrading effect on the Living State of cells.
- Elevated estrogen, cortisol, polyunsaturated fats, d-lactic acid and other noxious agents destabilize the Living State of cells and generally lead to a wide array of health problems.
- If your digestive system is working well enough to properly assimilate them, other nutrients including saturated fats, glycine, collagen and gelatin proteins and fructose rich foods are generally supportive of the Living State and promote cell health.
- Bio-individuality from one person to the next makes certain nutrients more or less appropriate for each individual, but the mass majority of people whose digestion is working well benefit from the foods/nutrients listed in the previous bullet.
- Dr. Raymond Peat has drawn from the life works of Dr. Gilbert Ling and Dr. Albert Sent gyorgyi to identify other frequently useful nutrients / supplements that are widely supportive of the Living State, including carbonated water, vitamin E, uncoated aspirin, fruit, fructose and gelatin.
